FOR SALEPage 2 'Tau' (Fijian for friend) was designed & built by Colin E.Philp. A sleek custom 90' ketch, it still remains to this day, one of the world's most elegant classic sailing yachts. Launched in Aug 11, 1972 she was reputedly the largest twin keeled ketch in the world at the time. An iconic vessel in Fiji, over the years, Tau has also done extensive chartering as well as been chartered and graced by some of the biggest Hollywood icons over the years such as George C. Scott, Mel Gibson to even Fijian royalty. Built for extended cruising around the world, 'Tau' has traversed the Pacific for over 37yrs including the Fiji Isles, Kiribati, Papua New Guinea, Australia, New Zealand, Cook Islands, Samoa, Tonga, Tahiti, Marquesis, Bora Bora, Galapagos, Gardner Island, Kanton, Solomon Islands, Christmas Islands, Rotuma and New Caledonia. She also completed a circumnavigation of the globe between March1999 and October 2000. Untill this day she remains the only Fiji registered boat to have ever accomplished such a feat.
